Oppo Foldable Phone Key Specifications Leaked

According to Digital Chat Station, Oppo’s first foldable phone will have approximately a 7.8 to 8-inch 2K OLED display with a smooth 120Hz refresh rate. In response to a user’s query, Digital Chat Station says that Oppo’s foldable display will be similar to Huawei’s Mate X2. That essentially means that the display will fold inwards, much like what you get on Samsung’s Galaxy Z Fold series.
Under the hood, Oppo’s foldable will not compromise on performance. Going by the Weibo post, Oppo’s foldable phone will equip Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 888 5G chipset. That’s the same SoC Samsung uses in its flagship Galaxy Z Fold 3. Hence, it’s evident that the company will position its foldable phone as a premium offering.
Another detail revealed in the post is in terms of the camera setup used in the foldable. The tipster claims that the foldable will feature a 50MP Sony IMX766 primary sensor and a 32MP front camera. There’s no word on the presence of other camera sensors if any.
Other than these details, the post suggests that Oppo’s foldable will feature a side-mounted fingerprint scanner and run Android 11 out of the box. Judging by the usage of Android 11 and Snapdragon 888, we could expect Oppo to unveil the foldable before the end of this year. Unfortunately, the company hasn’t shared an exact launch timeline for its entry into the world of foldable phones.
